Share Drafts – A share draft account is a basic checking service. Share
drafts can be used anywhere a check is accepted. All you need to sign up for a share draft
is a membership at the credit union and an initial deposit
of at least $100. After that, there is no required minimum balance on your share draft.
Checks can be purchased at the credit union by phone (719-256-4899 in Moffat, 719-754-2632
in Center).
Debit Cards – A debit card works and acts much like a credit card. The only
difference is that charges on a debit card are withdrawn directly from your share draft
account (IMPORTANT: If you charge more money on your debit card than you have in
your share draft account, you will be charged an overdraft fee). To be eligible for a
debit card, you must have maintained a checking account (not necessarily ours) for at
least six months without overdrafting, we may require you to produce 6 months of old
statements showing no overdrafts. A $15 processing fee is required for initiating debit
card service.
